The Curriculum

SELF is a small group intervention implemented in general education setting to promote social-emotional learning (SEL) for primary grade children at early risk for emotional and/or behavioral difficulties. It differs from other targeted interventions by (a) including a whole class component and (b) integrating SEL with literacy instruction using children’s storybooks to strengthen SEL language and promote self-regulation.
